Angling4Ediucation was founded in 2010 to meet the growing need for innovative, dynamic, and inspiring activity-based youth interventions. In this time, we have grown steadily and currently work with over 100 schools and other organisations. Since our inception our focus has been around interventions with the overall aim of improving participants engagement in education (Alternative Provision).
By using outdoor activities which are accessible and can be enjoyed by participants independently for free or at a low cost in their local community we can build Children and Young People’s emotional connection with the natural environment. As current research shows this can have a significant long-term impact on emotional wellbeing for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
All our work is vigorously reviewed and evaluated to ensure we are achieving the best possible outcomes for everyone we work with. This also enables us to be flexible and responsive to ensure individual needs are met. We believe our work should be flexible but systematic in its approach.
Children and Young People, and their families play a central role in the review, evaluation, and development of our provision. Outcomes for provision are developed in co-production with Children and Young People, families and relevant professionals. We also believe in a multi-agency approach to meeting the needs of everyone we work with.
Activities are the vehicle in which we use to support Children and Young People. This approach is fundamental to building strong relationships and creating opportunities for them to thrive and explore root causes of behaviour. The approach also enables us to follow an experiential model of learning whilst exploring issues affecting Children and Young People’s opportunity to achieve success in their lives.
